Delay between inspections

29th July 2010

I wonder if you could advise me regarding what would be considered a reasonable length of time between inspection of sections of road, for instance, I had an incident on 6 Feb 2010 the last previous inspection was carried out on 30th October 2009, would this be considered acceptable considering the severe winter we had.

It depends on the type of road and what 'hierarchy classification' it has been given. Download 'well maintained highways' from www.roadscodes.org and look at Section 9. There is a table there of what are considered to reasonable time frames for safety inspections.
