Pothole damage

I have had two wheels damaged by a pothole. I hit this pothole about a month ago but have only recently realised there was damage when I took car into garage to have wheels balanced due to vibration, where the two damaged wheels were found damaged on the inside rim. The pothole has since been filled in. Can I still claim?

If you want to. If it took a month to discover the damage, you might struggle to prove causation (i.e. a link between the potholes and the damage).
