Two fairly new expensive tyres were damaged due to a large pothole whilst driving in the dark where there were no street lights and after it had been raining and the pothole was full of water. I had to call the AA out to get me out of trouble to get home. I took photos. I sent a full report, copies of the AA reports, copies of the receipt of the tyres that were damaged, a copy of the receipt for the new tyres, photos, to be told that I could not claim because that road is regularly serviced and as such unable to accept any claims because they were up to date on their servicing for this road. I attempted to appeal but to no avail. How do I make a claim now. We are talking about quite a lot of money as the tyres are specialist tyres.
Now you need to start gathering information to consider what was known about the road and how effectively it had been inspected and looked after. Have a read of our step by step guide.
