I've hit a five and a half inch deep pothole around three weeks ago. My car was damaged and the repair work is expensive! The pothole was where road works used to be, on a blind hill, down a small country lane. Going along at the speed limit, a car on the other side of the road and the pothole appeared at the same time, with not enough time to avoid it. The size of the pothole made the road on my side smaller than the width of my car. The pothole has been recently filled in, however, a member of the local community when I was waiting for recvoery informed me that they had notified the local council some time before my incident, and nothing had been done. Can I claim? And how do I go about this? Thanks.
