Damage claim..but not to a car

My 14 year old daughter tripped whilst walking along a road (there was no footpath) and smashed her digital camera. The culprit was a raised manhole cover. She was not injured apart from cuts to her knees. As this is not damage to a car, do you think we'd still be able to claim? I'm planning to try anyway - the camera will need replacing and is worth around £200
