Incorrectly classified road

I think a road where my car hit a pothole is incorrectly classified and therefore incorrectly maintained. What will happen when I challenge the classification in court?

If your arguments are unreasonable, they will probably be dismissed off hand. If they are reasonable, one would hope that the local authority are asked to explain.

All I can say is that you prepare as well as possible. Classifications are described in 'Well Maintained Highways' so you need to demonstrate that the road itself does not meet meet the description of the classification. Visit the road, take some photographs, observed and record what vehicles use the road, count the number of vehicles.
