Injury in pothole

25th January 2012

I came out of my local shop Sunday evening and stepped off of the pavement into a large pothole at side of road. I fell into the pothole and fell over.
After spending 3 hours at a&e luckily I hadn't broken my ankle but badly sprained and told to rest for a week. So this means no work and no driving. I have taken pictures each day of my ankle and had to take a week sick (no pay) from work.
People are telling me to claim against council but do you think I have a case?
Any advice would be greatly received.
Thanks.

That would depend entirely on whether or not you can prove any negligence. My suggestion would be to have a look at our step by step guide and gather some information. If the information suggests a degree of negligence, maybe you could speak to a solicitor. We do not recommend trying to fight injury related cases without legal assistance.
