I put a claim into my local council (Coventry) back in March. It concerned damage to my car caused by a very large pothole on my road, that had been reported on several previous occassions and not repaired. As it was one of dozens, it was impossible to see in the dark and rain, hence me hitting it. I took photos, it really was huge (12" deep and 3ft+ wide), and got my car repaired - wheel bearing. I got this done at a garage and the toal cost of parts and labour was nearly £200. It also slightly damaged my tyres and scratched my alloys, but I could not afford to replace these, so am still driving on them.
On receipt of my claim the council replied with an acknowledgement stating they would reply within 90 days, as per the Civil Procedure Rules when dealing with negligence claims made by members of the public.
They have not replied as promised and 90 days have gone.
What should I do?
The title should read no reply within 90 days by the way - couldn't edit it.
