Newington Driveby nicalec@fsmail.net 05 Oct 2010
I drove down Newington Drive on Friday 1st Oct 2010 on my way to work and my right wheel went over the pothole, I initially thought I had burst my tyre due to the noise (bang), I stopped and got out to check and found my tyre to be in tact, however as I continued my journey down Newington Drive I found that my steering was shuddering. I rang my mechanic who advised me to bring it straight in for him to check. I have since been informed that "so far" they have found considerable damage to my right wheel, tyre, balance and tracking and am currently waiting for a full report as I have been told there is a possibility that my steering rack may also be affected!! This is a massive inconvenience to me and my children as I need my car for work and every day family commitments. I pay high council tax and road tax and have been dismayed to find that this road is in such bad repair, I don’t normally travel down Newington Drive but had to call in at the local shop (Colville Drive), it is evident from the size of the pot hole that this has been neglected for some time; in fact in one of the photos I have posted you can see this section of road has been repaired before. |
