Large pothole

I hit this pothole at approximately 18:00 on Tuesday 16th November 2010. I drive a small car and it caused damage.

The main part of the pothole measures 122cm long, 43cm wide and 9cm deep but a big section of the road around it has also sunk. The hole appears to have been filled-in previously but the contents has since washed away and is sitting on the side of the road.

The pothole is down an unlit country road and I was driving at night, meaning that I did not see the hole.

Although I was able to get home that evening, the hole had caused serious damage to my front passenger wheel rim. This caused my tyre to flatten and it could not be pumped up as air was escaping. I had to pay for a recovery vehicle to collect my car from my house as it was un-driveable and I had to pay for a new wheel.
