hit pot hole feb 2010, started the clam but gave up, can i continue the claim

hello all, im new here and need some advice.
in fubuary last year i was on my way to work along the b4176 heading towards bridgnorth, i dont go that way every day but the day before i had seen the hole so on the day i hit the hole i was going slow 35/40mph and trying to look out for it, but it was dark and the cars comeing over the brow of the hill made it very hard to see the pothole and i hit it, flattened the one tyre and split the other, big dent on the one alloy and dent and bucle on the other alloy, i was told that they cant be fixed by 3 different places.
i took pictures of the hole strait after the incident, the hole had already been marked up, i went there later that day with a tapemeasure but it had already been filled it.
i went forward with the claim, and by may they asked me to get 2 or 3 estimates for the repairs, at this point i was loosing hope because my alloys are aftermarket alloys and arnt available anymore so i would need to replace them all.
so not knowing what to do i gave up, and ended up buying some old cheap alloys with tyres.
my question is, can i stil try to continue with the claim and should i try to claim for 4 wheels even though only 2 was destroyed and finaly would i have to pay for the estimated.
thanks in advance

You still have time to continue with your claim should you wish to. It is unethical, and possibly damaging to your claim, to claim for 4 wheels when you only damaged 2. You are not obligated to obtain quotes for repairs relating to claims. You get the work done at a fair and reasonable price, and you claim for that amount.
