potholes in Oaks Lane, Newbury Park, Essex, IG7

by Marg

15 Aug 2008

I am a disabled driver, suffering from very painful arthritis. I travel to and from Newbury Park to take my disabled mother out. In Oaks Lane, Newbury Park there are bumps each side of the road to slow down the traffic. This road is a small country lane type road, but carries a lot of traffic. The potholes are at the side of the road and one is actually on the side of one of the bumps. They are also very near a bend in the road which is impossible to see round so you have to keep over your side of the road. Every time I go down this road I have to crawl at a snail pace because when going over the bump with the pothole on the side of it, the steering wheel gets yanked out of my hand. The road also has a school on it, so is now open to lots of cars dropping off and picking up children at school. It is about time the council repaired them.
