Swindon Roads Get Worse

It is not just roads in the town centre that are suffering, probably through budget constraints but who knows. The roads in the surrounding countryside, falling under the responsibility of Swiindon Borough Council, are a complete nightmare. The sides of many roads have just fallen away. I recently wrecked a tyre (beyond repair) caused by the need to pull over to pass another vehicle - the front nearside wheel simoly fell off the razor shape edge of the road which had eroaded. I submitted a claim recently, which I gather the council are in the process of rejecting. I shall have to see their reasons for rejecting the claim but I gather that one of their defences is that the last time they checked the road all was well. I find this difficult to believe as locals have told me that the road had been in that condition for ages.
