Twyford Wharf pothole

On Friday 14th January 2011 at around 6.30pm I was travelling along this stretch of road at circa 30mph and slowing down as I headed downhill towards the canal bridge. Unfortunately as the pothole is just after a slight bend in the road on the downward incline towards the canal bridge and in an unlit area I did not see it at all! There was a huge bang as I hit the pothole, it was pretty frightening! On stopping my car I noticed that the side wall of the front passenger side tire had a huge split in it, and the rear PS tire had a large chunk out of it!. To cut a long story short... the AA came said that is was unsafe to drive thecar even though the tires are run flats, so the car had to be transported on the back of a pick up. The new tires cost £450, but at least I did have breakdown cover, otherwise I would have had to pay a further £200 to be transported by the AA. So please beware of this lethal pothole, it can do some sever damage!
