Dangerous Pot Hole

by james89

23 Feb 2011

On Tuesday 22nd February, I could not avoid hitting a series of pot holes. I Got home to find i had a slow flat on that wheel. I Pumped it up and whilst driving to the garage to get the tyre inspected, I noticed that the car felt unsteady with a constant juddering felt through the steering wheel. The garage removed my wheel and showed me that the tyre needed replacing as the sidewall had blown out and was unsafe to drive on. Not only this, but the alloy wheel had sustained damage to the inside of the rim. This will now need specialist attention to try and remove the dent. I returned to the pot holes on the 23rd February to take photographs of what had caused the damage.

The tyre which was replaced was around 7 months old and had plenty of usable tread left and would not have needed replacing any time soon. It was not cheap to replace and has caused great inconvinience.
