Unnamed, but not unshamed

The road in question is lies around the West Yorkshire/Derbyshire border and is my daily commute to work. Since the end of 2010 this particular section has become more like an off-road assault course every passing day. The road is Fieldhead Road, between the A6024 Woodhead Road and the A635 Greenfield Road. Particularly the section before the Digley Reservoir dam.

Turn left after the cobbles in the centre of Holme (coming from Holmemoss) and just as you start to leave the village. A couple of hundred metres later and you enter half mile section of torn up road that has caused a growing list of car damage: Lower suspension arm; 3 lots of tracking; anti roll bar tie rods; track rod end; anti roll bar bushes; wheel bearing.

The number of potholes is simply too numerous to list and I've been reporting them on the CTC website, until I found this. The road is narrow, but double track until you hit the pothole section. There it becomes impossible to avoid hitting a hole when with an oncoming vehicle. the pictures say it all.

Despite reports to Kirklees Council, since November 2010, the road remains unrepaired and is deteriorating. It won't be long before it becomes impassable unless in a 4x4. This has to be the worst road in the UK.
