Dicky Harpers Lane

by terryp

06 Mar 2011

We have a minor road called Seamer Moor Lane known locally as Dicky Harpers Lane; this road has become a Bypass to Scarborough for local people wanting to keep away from the main route into Scarborough which can be blocked both summer and winter.

Since the mayhem of the cold weather and the damage to roads this particular road has been closed twice for repairs to potholes and road edge damagecaused b people avoiding the potholes. Both times the holes were filled in and both times the potholes have re-appeared to their original capability to do damage to vehicles; but more seriously this road is notorious for major dips in the road where visability of other oncoming vehicles is impossible until the last minute. Deaths have occured on this road due to head on collisions. These potholes cause vehicles to swerve to avoid these holes giving rise to the potential for more head on collisions.

I would love to know the cost of the repairs to this road since the frosts of December.

Pothole location
Seamer Moor Ln, Seamer, North Yorkshire YO12 4, UK
Status
Unfilled
