Barnby Road, Newark |

by phil7979 07 Mar 2011 From the traffic lights at its junction with Sherwood Avenue to the Barnby Railway Xing, the surface of this road is an absolute mosaic of old roadworks which have subsided, to small and deep potholes; it is particularly bad and dangerous in the section from the junction with the Barnby Road Primary School to the Barnby Railway Xing. In this latter section an old roadwork trench runs parallel to and very close with the centre white line in the centre of the road; motorists try to avoid this by straddling the trench and the white line which puts them in danger of a headlong collision with oncoming traffic, particularly on the blind bend. To add to this danger pedestrians are forced to walk in the road to avoid the overhanging tree branches, shrubs and nettles, which adds to the danger to them and road users. All in all, this is a road to avoid. |
