Drainage Grid

by colpip

25 Jun 2011

This pothole is dangerous. On the day I hit it, the sunken tarmac had filled up with water so it was disguised. Also, even if you noticed it, at this point the road is quite narrow so there is no room to move out into the road to miss it, especially if there is a car coming the other way as in my case.

My nearside wheel went into the depressed hole and hit the exposed corner edge of the drainage grid. There was a almighty bang from the suspension. The pointed edge of the grid went through the side wall of my tyre, deflating it immediatly as well as taking out a chunk, the size of a pencil diameter, from the rim of my expensive alloy wheel.

So Beware!

Pothole location
Droxford Rd, Swanmore, Hampshire SO32 2, UK
Status
Unfilled
