Are any local councils getting it right?

I am not sure this comment fits with any story type by like most people who register on potholes.co.uk, the area in which I live has many potholes and they seem destined to remain so for the foreseeable future. I’m involved in the local community forum and this often comes up as a discussion point.

I appreciate the funding cuts in local government but I would like to know if any councils seem to be getting it right and how? What is the answer? Immediate short term repair with cold tarmac? Warning signs that alert drivers when potholes are approaching? What are the ball park figures of repairing potholes permanently compared to the likely compensation if the council are sued?

Can I access details of how much compensation certain councils have paid out to counterbalance an argument for repairing them in the first place?

Appreciate they are a broad set of questions but any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Google "ALARM survey" and the latest report will answer many of your questions.
