4 ft by 20" pot hole

I hit this 4 ft long by 20" wide pothole 21.11.11 at 5pm in the fog, this road is tight and this hole is on the passenger side of a right hand bend.
i hit it, it made a load bang but i managed to stay on the road. i made it back to my house on the village but when i got in i discovered a large buckle in the wheel, and a as a result a tyre.

I needed to buy a whole new rim, and have my tracking re aligned.
