Oxford Road Pothole

by Phillmarley

02 Jan 2012

On New Years Eve (Dec 31st 2011), I was heading down Oxford Road in a southerly direction, when I was forced into a pothole by the presence of oncoming traffic, and the presence of a parked car at the roadside.

My car sustained a flat tyre, and sidewall damage to the tyre, a 195/45 R16V type, with a retail value of approximately £100.

The pothole is approx. 30" long by 14" wide and some 4-5" deep and its position near the centre of the road means that it is around 8ft from parked cars, and very likely that motorists in small cars will hit it.

I shall be submitting a claim for the cost of a new tyre to those responsible for the maintenance of this stretch of road.
