Money wasted elsewhere

i live in swansea where the roads and kerbs are in an extreme state of disrepair. over the last 2 or 3 months i have noticed council workers carrying out other jobs on the highways or the hard shoulders. the money spent on these jobs must be a very lot as various jobs have been going on for a long time. i also dont see that there is any urgency to the jobs which include

1/ tree felling along the banks of the M4
2/ preasure washing central reservations on dual carraigeways
3/ trimming back hedges

the money spent on these jobs would of gone a long way into repairing potholes and poor kerbs. it is about time that the council started spending the money on jobs that are a lot more important like repairing potholes. the cheek is that if anyone damages their car because of a pothole they deny all responsibility
