A165 Lisset to Fraisthorpe very deep holes

by saxbloke

17 Jan 2012

The story so far is not good news I am afraid! I have been attempting to make a claim for a cracked alloy wheel (repaired then broken again) and 2 other wheels with severe flat spots. Jaguar wheels dont give much flexibility when it comes to very large damaged road surface areas. To cut a long story short I have been writing emails, letters and just about everything else to the local authority, their appointed claims department and even Graham Stuart my MP since January last year 2011 with zero action being taken! East Riding of Yorkshire Council are consistent with their response:

"Over the last two winter periods a small number of claimants have not accepted the council's position regarding the defence of winter claims and have proceeded to the small claims court. On every occasion the judge has ruled in favour of the council".

My repairs stand me to £790.00 as I eventually had to replace all 4 wheels and 3 tyres as they consistently deflating due to the flat spots and damaged the sidewalls. I am continuing to be positive until a national breakthrough on this matter happens and my last correspondance with my MP suggested I take my claim to a small claims court. I guess he has just lost a vote!
