Potholes in the middle of the road near the speed camera |

by Chappers 23 Jan 2012 I was driving home from work at night. The A420 at Pusey Common Wood is a 50mph limit, dark and quite often you can see deer around and it is not uncommon to see dead deer on the road. There is a speed camera for Swindon bound traffic and it was approaching this speed camera I hit a pothole. I was driving towards the centre of the road to give me every opportunity to avoid any deer when there was a loud crunch about 40-50 metres prior to the camera. The steering indicated a puncture and I slowed down and pulled over just after the speed camera. On inspecting the road I saw a series of small potholes that are getting worse. They are in the centre of the road and can be avoided by driving closer to the kerb. The road is used heavily by HGVs from Oxford to Swindon and since the snow last year, little has been done to improve it. There were similar pot holes that have been fixed a short distance towards Oxford. I suffered a tear in the front offside tyre wall and the tracking was put out. I will now try and seek compensation for this. |
