Potholes at Ffynon Dwyn Bridge

by francis23

11 Apr 2012

There are 3 large and very dangerous potholes at Ffynon Dwyn Bridge,or just after passing under bridge going east from Pontsticill towards Pant. The holes are just beyond the bridge and before the Ffynon Dwyn and Taff Trail entrance.
On Sunday morning at approx.10:45am April 8th 2012 I passed under the bridge with intention of evading potholes but speed of oncoming van caused me to swerve quite sharply into said potholes and then to veer back towards oncoming vehicle. This action caused me to clip the driver side wing mirror of my car with the oncoming vehicle, which failed to stop. The offside front tyre was shredded on outside wall and nearside wing mirror smashed. The AA attended and fitted spare wheel temporarily until new tyre available and new wing mirror electronic unit to be fitted. The cost will amount to some £400 plus!

Pothole location
Brecon Beacons National Park, 2 Taf Fechan Villas, Pontsticill, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 2UP, UK
Status
Unfilled
