large pot hole Winsford Road Cholmondeston
14 May 2012
whilst travelling along Winsford Road following another vehicle i did not have time to react and hit this pot hole which is a foot deep and 3 feet long well away from the road edge and directly in the line of travel. caused a blow out with a severely buckled alloy to boot. This is extremely dangerous and could cause a car or motorbike to lose control and crash
Winsford Rd, Winsford, Cheshire East CW7, UK
From your first pic, from your car to the pothole there is an area on the right if the picture which shows a layer of bitmac deteorating. My guess is that there has been an over lay repair here to level up the edge of the road to the level of the centre of the road. You can clearly see where the road edge gets uneven. For this repair to be a success, the road needs to be tracked for the bitmac to hold which it hasnt in this case, there is also no evidence of a track which should surround the uneven area and be 2" deep.
