Huge crater not a pothole!

by annie67

16 Jul 2012

Driving out of the Candlestick pub - Sunday afternoon heading to Hertford, I came across this pothole and as soon as I hit it I knew my car was damaged.
Seconds later I could feel my car driving badly so I pulled over 5 metres down the road at the pumping station to find an instant puncture.
I called out the AA and waited for an hour & a half.
The AA man was very good and repalced my tyre however he discovered that the old wheel rim had been totally damaged and the tyre ripped into
He advised me to take a photo of both the tyre and the pothole - I went back to have a look and couldnt believe the size of it
As it had been raining and there was a trail of water coming down the hill it was full of water so very difficult to see
This will cause no end of damage - as this is a single file road and very difficult to avoid
