Potholes in Perranwell Station near TRURO in Cornwall

We have lived here in Cornwall for 25 years now. We are lucky to live in one of the county's prettiest villages called Perranwell Station which is about half way between TRURO and FALMOUTH.

In the last 2-3 years many people have moved from the South East and Midlands into this area to enjoy the quality of life albeit with very high property prices.

During the last 2-3 years there has been a marked deterioration in the road surfaces in the area. Potholes have appeared literally everywhere in the last few months as a result of the very heavy rainfall that we have experienced here in west Cornwall.

The company responsible for the repair of these roads is called CORMAC working in conjunction with Cornwall County Council. After calling County Highways on numerous occasions nothing has been carried out apart from the odd CORMAC van turning up and making a poor repair.

The potholes are now so bad that we have to manoeuvre our cars aorund them! In particular Station Road here in Perranwell has to be the Number 1 worst along with St Piran's Hill and the road that goes down to Tredrea. Other areas affected are Old Carnon Hill which passes the Penvale Cattery and also the road down past the dentists (formerly a butchers).
