Cranleigh to Shere

by keith

07 Mar 2007

We all know that this is the worst time of year for potholes because the local councils have run out of money until the next fincial year.
My problem is that the councild emply people who are incapable of doing a proper repair.
The Cranleigh to Shere road (Hound House Road) is a typical example.

A morronic bunch of bodgers just threw down asphalt into the holes and of course with all the rain the tar has been washed out and hey presto the hole is now twice the size!

The crucial issue is to use cement to seal the hole and then only top dress with asphalt. You can not expect ashphalt to plug a hole it is too flexible!!!

Sureley this forum must know what the best practice is so that we can tell these dozy souls in the councils to get their subcontractirs to work to that specificattion.

Question have you ever seen a pothole repair being checked as to whether it is a proper job. NO. Why because theses bodgers are mostly pikies who have tar on the back of their lorries and demand payment with a pick axe handle.

Angry of Cranleigh
Two broken mag alloys in 9 months and no compensation!
