Potholes on Stockton lane

In the Shropshire section of this road about 1 mile from the A41.Holes which were evident in September, received a circle of yellow paint from the authorities in October, are now twice their original size. The yellow paint has now worn away, or broken off the edge of the holes. Today (Jan 25) and unfortunate motorist called at my house to use the phone in order to call the AA since his Renault Clio had a damaged tyre as a result of striking one of the water filled potholes. I photographed the hole and others, which range from 80 to 150 mm (3.5 to 6 inches) deep.Some are approaching 1 square metre in area. I also took photos of his damaged tyre.The wheel does not appear to be damaged but this needs careful removal and inspection. I also have a damaged wheel and tyre from one of the adjacent potholes - i have not yet reported it since i was unaware of this site or the correct procedure.I shall further my claim for which i also have photographs.
LAST YEAR I WATCHED THE CONTRACTOR FILL ONE OF THESE HOLES.IT WAS RAINING AND THE HOLE WAS FULL OF WATER.HE TIPPED TARMAC IN FROM OFF THE LORRY, HIT IT WITH HIS SHOVEL AND THEN DROVE THE REAR WHEELS OF THE TRUCK OVER THE 'REPAIR'. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS.NICE TO SEE OUR COUNCIL TAX BEING SPENT WISELY BY A COUNCIL WHO THINK AN ' ICE' WARNING SIGN SHOULD BE PERMANENT ON A LANE A MILE FROM THESE HOLES. THE SIGN HAS BEEN CORRECT FOR ABOUT 25 DAYS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS AND MISLEADING FOR OVER 1000 DAYS!
