Henley on Thames Bridge - Has it been bombed ?

Dirving out of Henley-On-Thames on Firday night, it's raining, it's dark, visability is as you would expect for these types of conditions, travelling at around 25 mph I started to drive over the bridge when BANG! A massive sound that shook me to my core, follwed almost instantly by another. I did wonder if I was driving over land mines !! Then I lost control of the car as the front end felt like to has been severed from the rest of the vehicle.
I limped the car into a lay by just over the bridge. Basically my suspension had been smashed to pieces on my BMW 328ci, the front offside tyre had been pushed back into body work and there were bits of body work hanging from the front of the car.
I took a short stroll back accross the bridge to find not one, not two, but 3 potholes in a row, two of which were huge - the first 2 ! So I hit the first one, then went straight into the secind one and it was game over.
