Large Pothole - Uxbridge Road Slough

Evening of 25th January 2010, around 540pm during the rush hour, I was travelling home when I hit the pothole and immediatley knew from the rubbing sounds after the immense thud there was bound to be some damage. I had moved out to the outside lane of this section of dual carriageway as I had seen the traffic lights about 150 yards ahead change from Red to Red/Amber and then Green, to pass a still slowing car, it's at that point I've hit the what I now know to be the massive pothole which,
1. Popped my offside front tyre
2. At the point of impact has bent the edge of my alloy wheel by around 2-3 inches.
3. The same 2-3 inches of damage on my rear offside wheel although that tyre didn't pop.

Very very very upset at the damage it's caused, and going back during the daylight to see where it occured, extremely angry and frustrated at the sheer size of the deformity on the surface of the road. It's about 3.6 Metres in length and about 80cm wide. Most of it's length the deformity is about 1 or 1.5 inches deep. Only at one end is the pothole deep, about 3-4 inches deep and about 30-50 cm wide. The ridge where the good surface of the road meets the pothole is what's banged both my wheels causing the damage.

There are quite a few roads around Slough that have recently been made or re-surfaced, however these very large deformaties in much more heavily used roads need to be fixed. Just a few hundred yards away there are sections of this carriageway and the opposite side that have been re-surfaced over the last few years, but not all sections and this is one of those neglected areas.

Very very annoying.
