Nicholas lane pothole appearance.

by nickyboy

05 Apr 2007

A couple of weeks ago a work colleague was driving home along Nicholas Lane, Basildon, Essex at about 7pm when a contractor working for Basildon council walked from his parked truck across to the opposite carriageway with a pickaxe in his hand and using the said ( workmans tool) knocked 2 potholes into the join of the tamac and then proceeded to another tamac joint along a bit further, these self made potholes are now making a (congaline) of traffic as a steady flow snakes its way around the holes , mind you basildon is full of potholes on nearly every road you care to drivealong.
dispite phoning (steetcare) (01268 294949) to report potholes streetliglights not working ect. you hardly see any repairs being carried out. Perhaps the workman think that by making their own potholes they will have a constant flow of work, but there is not much evidents of this.
