A6014 pothole

by thegroundsman

28 Feb 2010

At approx 19.10 on Thurs 25th Feb 2010, I was driving along Oakley Road, Corby returning home after dropping my son off at Scouts.
At the time it was dark and there was no sufficient street lighting. It was then I came across a pothole, obviously not that visable as I was unable to avoid it.
Once hitting this I felt my wheel bump with a thud and at this point I knew I had done some damage.
Not apparent at first until the following day but the steering was out and I felt my car start pulling to the left. By the weekend the tyre was flat (a slow puncture) which I was unable to drive & my husband had to change the tyre. It was then my husband noticed oil leaking from beneath the car onto the drive. The car will have to go down the garage, not just for the puncture repair but also to assess the damage to the underneath.
