Pothole on approach to Greens Norton

The pothole is a few inches from the kerb - I couldn't avoid it as a car was approaching in the other direction. I was doing about 25mph when I hit the pothole - a very large bang and obviously damaged the tye. Upon further inspection, both tyres on the passenger side were damaged beyond repair. I'm now waiting for them to be replaced (at great expense) - and hoping there's no damage to the wheels themselves. This pothole has already been reported so I'm fuming!
