St Helens Council Vs Edward Mercer

by totallyeddible

Dear All,

I thought you all would like to know how I got on at court today. I am sueing my local council for a damages to a pothole on 250606. It caused damage to my new car which I was upset about.

I got back from court an hour ago and I did amazingly well as I have a stammer and I did not even have a solicitor. I was not phased in the slightest. The trial has been adjourned until Mid-June so the Defendant can consider further evidence about a pothole on the same road as the one I drove on last year which caused damage to my alloy wheel as there was a pothole measuring 7.5 inches depth (see previous article on this site) This pothole (both sides of a manhole cover) has been in situ for over three months, it has been identified for repair as it has white markings around it yet nothing has been done to repair it.

I am very proud of myself and it appears my case has been picked up by not just the local press but the national press too and this could pave the way for a parliamentary review of section 58 of The Highways Act 1980.

Its amazing what the regular 'man in the street' can accomplish.

I am very happy with myself.

Kind Regards,
Edd (esjmercer@hotmail.com)
