If you are concidering a holiday on the isle of wight you better be prepared to ruin your car ,your health or worce , the whole island is a pot hole the road network has not had resurfacing work for many many years , every stretch of road is a lethal combination of potholes and extream cambers, surface subsidence and cracks are the norm.
The island council pay themselves six figure sums, it is an afront to charge road tax. And if the roads dont get you , road hog buses WILL , they run you into ditches ,make you reverce hundreds of yards to get out there way , and avoid NEWPORT at all cost the roads are real bad there and the traffic system is pathetic ,buses can go up one way streets and turn into oncoming traffic cause they have right of way regardles, no bus laybys you just all que up and follow them ,the isle of wight is a night mare to drive on,walk on , and dont what ever you do bring a cycle you will be seriously injured even the cycle tracks are potholed ,in a word its crap here go to spain its cheaper and you will enjoy it much much more .and this stupid council are saying we are to g e t goverment road funding to fix all this yeah right we will hahahahhahahahah someone buy my house so i can get out pluuuesse
