Another broken Buckinghamshire road

by mikethemedic

13 Mar 2010

Country lane, about 7.30 at night, pretty narrow and dark so thankfully i was only going slowly when I hit the huge pothole with the front nearside wheel.

Initially I thought the tyre had burst as there was a rubbing sound and the car kept dipping down towards the affected wheel.

I stopped straight away, jacked the car up and took off the wheel - the impact had bent the inner rim enough to make it strike the brake calliper with every rotation of the wheel.

The road is too narrow to turn in, and too dark to reverse safely, so I limped home on the spacesaver wheel trying to avoid the other huge holes in this road, which is now impassable unless you're in a landrover or a tractor.
