Hit hole at maximum 30 mph as was behind very slow car, heard pop immediately and pulled over. Wheel buckled but no tyre damage luckily. As my car doesn't have a spare (Smart Roadster) the AA came to help. Had to pay to upgrade my membership, missed my flight, paid for a new flight next day, borrow a car from a friend for a week and buy new wheel. All in all I think it cost me around £500+.
Have now reported hole to Essex CC and submitted FOI claim.
