massive crater...

by al22

18 Mar 2010

This pothole has shattered the front wheel of my car and almost caused me to crash. It's going to cost in the region of £300 to repair (and that's assuming no more damage surfaces once the garage has taken a proper look). I saw the hole at the last minute, but a transit coming the other way meant I couldn't swerve to avoid it. I have taken photo's and called Midlothian Council to report it. They were already aware of it, and said an inspector had returned not half an hour before from conducting a site visit and informing Scottish Water they HAD to fill it. (I think theyd already been warned). The Council have said they'll send me a claim form, but from other stories I've read it seems unlikely my claim will be successful... Going to try anyway - nothing ventured and all that. If you are on this stretch of road please take care!
