BEFORE you submit a claim for damage |

by krazykev 05 Apr 2010 i have advice for all people claiming for damages caused by potholes. you MUST have photographic evidence of the hole as it will be filled before you can blink. it is not unknown for the councils to have a claim against them for damage and then promptly fill the hole and fiddling the books saying that it was filled a couple of days before hand. if possible try and put an object next to the pothole showing how deep and wide it is. councils will do their utmost best to worm their way out of a claim. if it is filled with water use a coloured ruler to show the depth. dont forget that you will be standing in the middle of the road so take care and try to wear a bright coloured jacket if possible. only once you have all the evedence should you report it and make a claim |
