A 25 (Reigate Road) heading towards Dorking

by travel

05 Apr 2010

Traveling home towards Dorking at around 10.50pm on Easter Sunday. The road is unlit,we were traveling at approximately 40 - 45 mph, when a large dark shape appeared on the road surface. We were unable to avoid what turned out to be a large deep hole in the road. There followed a loud crash and the steering began to shake.Having pulled over to investigate we found our off side front tyre completely deflated. On inspection we found the inside rim of the road wheel was badly damaged which had allowed the tyre to deflate. This pothole seems to have eminated from a previous temporary repair and is 1 of 2 deep holes near the crown of the road just after a blind left hand bend.

Pothole location
Reigate Rd, Brockham, Surrey RH4 1, UK
Status
Unfilled
