B2026 Hartfield, East Sussex

by Southcoaster

08 Apr 2010

I was traveling north on the B2026 having just left Hartfield, East Sussex, heading towards Edenbridge on 2010 Good Friday afternoon.
The nearside rear wheel of my Smart car hit a big pothole, and the subsequent damage immediately deflated the tyre.
The Smart car has no spare wheel, so I had to call out a tow truck.
I had no camera with me so could not photograph the pothole, and I have only just got the car back on the road nearly a week later partly because of the Easter holidays.
The Pothole website make depressing reading.
I don’t know of anybody making a successful claim against a council on the website, as the law to so heavily biased in their favour.
Given that I would have to make a special journey to travel back to the site of the pothole to photograph it, I feel it would be a waste of time to pursue any claim, which does piss me off.

Pothole location
Edenbridge Rd, Hartfield, East Sussex TN7 4, UK
