Axmansford Deep Pothole

There is a deep pothole on the Wolverton Road in Axmansford Hampshire that I had to misfortune to encounter. It is quite small in diameter making it difficult to spot and thereby avoid. However it is deep enough to have caused serious damage to the sidewall of my front tyre to the point that it requires premature replacement. I was travelling at low speed at the point of hitting to pothole as I was just moving out to overtake a cyclist having followed it along this relatively narrow road for a while until a suitable overtaking point was reached. The cost for a replacement tyre will be approx £130 for an equivalent tyre. I intend to persue a compensation claim from the local authority for this cost.
