Watch Out!!

I was heading eastbound on the main A35 road on my way back from a meeting.

Due to the numerous potholes that have cropped up over the past 6 months and the amount of time I spend on the road on a weekly basis I am quite accustomed to keeping my eye out for these car wreckers.

Unfortunately this one slipped under the radar and ended up with me having to replace the offisde front tyre.

I was just coming down the hill, just after the double lane merges into one and then breaks again for the right hand turn into Longlands Lane (Please see photos). The pothole is located directly in the line of the offside wheels and as you are travelling at 50-60mph is very hard to notice. It is located to the left of the arrowhead that points straight on or/and just ahead and to the left of the arrowhead that directs you into the right hand lane to turn off for Longlands Lane.

It caused the car to considerably jolt and shudder and at first I thought it may have cracked the alloy.

After closer inspection it had caused the tyre to rupture internally and bulge out (see Attached picture) and inevitably ended up in me having to pay for a whole new tyre as it was beyond repair which was confirmed by the garage.
