RECURRING POTHOLE

I have not taken any photos as I am not making a claim, but the pothole I reported on Coole Lane just outside Nantwich is making its appearance again, right in the middle of the tarmack that was spooned into the original pothole. As the road is scheduled to be "resurfaced" on the 18th and 19th of May 2010, it may get taken care of with the rest of the road. I hope.

Unfortunately if the council carry out a "quick fix" they have carried out their obligation as at that point in time they have ceased the pothole from being a hazard. They do not recognise that it will fall out in a month of trafficking resulting inthe road network steadily deteriorating. This is no way to progress as our roads will continue to worsen unless we address the issue and make sure the pothole is filled once and correctly! This slow but steady approach will in time result in an improvement of the standard of UK roads!

I live near Nantwich and have had a similar incident where a hole filled badly in Jan then did damage to my car in April this year but as the council re-filled it the day later, (apparently identifying it 2 days prior to me hitting it), I have no grounds to claim..? Surely if they do a proper repair in the first place, this would not happen.. Any fool can fill a hole but if it re appears within a mont or so, this is wasting tax payers money AND damaging vehicles to boot..!! (Not Happy..!)

Make sure your council are aware of it by visiting http://maps.cheshire.gov.uk/cheshirecc.interactivemapping.web.internet/Default.aspx#aTabTop3 and reporting this fault.
