by dookes 27 May 2010 The damage happened to my girfriends car. The car is a 1999 Ford Fiesta, 3 door, hatchback with 13 inch alloy wheels. She was driving along the road mentioned and hit the pothole at approx 30 mph. The tyre on the vehicle went very flat (did not actually burst) and the steering went very wobbly. After pulling into the Bennett Arms car parking area which is about 300 yards from the pothole site, she telephoned a work collegue to pick her up to take her to work in Shaftesbury. I informed the RAC and met the recovery technician at the car park sit. He removed the vehicles wheel and replaced it with the full size steel spare. The photo attached clearly shows that the alloy wheel has failed due to the impact of the pothole, causing the tyre damage also. |

There is no photo attached. Reporting this potholes you should also have reported it to Wiltshire council. Visit our "how to claim" page to see what to do next. Obtain an FOI act and see whether or not the council have been operating correctly as set out in their guidelines and from there you can tell whether there is any point in filing a claim for these damages.
