Holey misery

by Matt73

31 May 2010

Hi,

I am both a motorist and an experienced road cyclist, i live in Sheffield and i have to say that the potholes where i live are an absolute disgrace. The size of some of them are huge and also very deep.

As a public sector work i understand that public money is tight but something has to be done to rectify these holes. In the last few months i have not only had to replace 2 of my car tyres at £80 each but have had to buy a new bike wheel which has cost me around £650. Both these costs are due to running over pot holes in and around Sheffield.

The councils really need to take this issue seriously. Even when they get round to filling in the holes in, the work that is done is a disgrace and shoddy. The type of tarmac used is cheap and only lasts in some cases for days.

Its time for the councils to get a grip and sort this issue out instead of throwing money down the drain.
