by spanishgirl 17 Jul 2010 In February my son whilst on his way to work hit a large pothole which resulted in a burst tyre and damage to the wheel. Fortunately he was not hurt as the pothole was large. He immediately informed the County Council but it has taken all this time for them to come to the decision that he will not receive any compensation as an inspection of the road had been made 3 weeks prior to the incident and they said they had no knowledge of the pothole and were not aware or had been informed that a pothole had since appeared. My son is very angry as on his return from work that very same day, some 8 hours later the pothole had been filled in (photo taken). The Council must obviously have booked this job out to be made good before the incident. What can he do? |
